happy shopping!

One of my favorite things is sourcing the perfect gift for someone. Gift giving is not my love language and I’d rather give nothing than give the wrong thing, but when you get it right…such a great feeling!

With that in mind, I am putting together a few gift guides this year starting with one for the hostess. All the links are below and on my pinterest board.

Today, we are looking at the birmingham place 2020 gift guide for the hOSTESS.

Sure, our usual holiday parties, cookie exchanges, favorite things parties may not be happening at the same scale this year, but in the event you are gathering with friends or family and want to take a token of appreciation, these ideas should set you on the right track.

Check out my other holiday gift guides here and below.

transitional living room $3,000

Over on Instagramthis weekend, we played a fun game: This or That, Build a Living Room. I put up two options in a number of categories like a sofa, side table and lighting, and then built a mood board with the winning items (included below.) Everyone has great taste!

We ended up with a transitional living room that comes in just over $3,000. If you want to create the look or see the other items we were choosing from, all the links are available on myPinterest board here.

The final room included the Z Gallerie Theodore Sofa paired with wood and upholstered armchairs from Target for a high/low mix. The winning rug was theSafavieh Brentwood Medallion rug, which I used in my mom’s new living room and can vouch that it’s really pretty in person. Plenty of other pretty details with the lighting, art and tables, too.

I mentioned on Instagramthe sofas were almost a 50/50 split and if your budget and space allows, I’d spring for both! I love the effortless mix of upholstery and leather.
